Lazy Afternoons at Malibu

My visit to Malibu was another one of those out of the body experiences. The whole trip felt surreal because everything was happening in warp speed and on the flight back to Seattle I felt like I had experienced everything yet nothing.

One of the highlights of this trip to sunny Los Angeles was visiting Malibu and seeing all the rich people shop at all these designer stores. During the visit, I clearly remember thinking when would I get the opportunity to spend 500$ on an item and not giving a care about it.

The other highlight of this trip was the sunny sands of Malibu specifically at Point Dume. Investing in a camping chair and an umbrella is one of the best ideas to find heaven at less than 20$. I don't know how to swim but spending time at the beach is something I have enjoyed lately. The soft sands at your feet and the sound of the waves. You can meditate and feel your whole body relax.

Mumbai - An Outsider's Perspective

After living in Mumbai for 14 years from 2001-2014, I have lived both outside the city and the country for the last 7 years with a few visits here and there. It's safe to say I am now considered an NRI and as an outsider I am more looking into the city rather than living and breathing the city air on a daily basis. As such, I reminisce about the old days and the manner in which the city is functioning right now. I wanted to put down my thoughts and some things that have changed in the city and also about how the city differs from other cities in the world that I have seen. Mumbai is still one of the most rapid cities I have ever seen probably only next to New York. People are always in a rush here trying to get done with whatever's next on that plate. That could be getting from Point A to Point B, talking on the phone and wrapping up work or even having a meal. There are a few places in the city where life truly slows down but those places are few and far between. It woul...

Cautious Optimism - The Tottenham Hotspur 2022/23 Preview

It almost feels like yesterday when the season ended back in May and Spurs secured a top-4 finish pipping our rivals to the finish line. It was a joyous occasion then, especially since we accomplished getting a Champions League spot for the next season which our rivals despite their spirited attempt could not. What made it even more special was that back in January, almost all the big media pundits had counted Spurs out of the race. The media was either pushing for Arteta in Arsenal to prove his caliber or simply had their fingers crossed for Manchester United to somehow bring back their bygone era. In the week after the season ended, Spurs made their first signing in Ivan  Perišić . As soon as Spurs made that signing, it was apparent that this window was going to be unlike any other. In case you have been living under a rock, there is a spoiler alert on the next line. Spurs have made 6 signings already in the transfer window, 6! Can you imagine that Daniel Levy has green lit 6 sig...

Mr. and Mrs. Mohgan's Super Crispy Prata House

November, 2019 was when I decided to travel back home to India. However, I wanted to take a risk as well by doing something I have never done before. After experiencing one day of solo travel in NYC (post coming in a few days), I really wanted to travel solo to another country and out of my comfort zone. Choosing Singapore was one of the safe cards I played, because during my research I found that it is one of the safest places to visit alone. Every morning on this trip, I had one mission. It was to find the best breakfast in Singapore. The second day on my trip, even though this place was out of my way, I decided to take the 30 minute bus ride to this Prata House. Singapore buses are very comfortable and are cool to provide you a break from the heat. The buses are cheap and are much recommended over the Grab taxis. The prata at this place was definitely the best prata I have had outside of India. You do have to wait for 20 minutes on a weekday (this might be more on a weekend) for the...
